Mama’s Club Uganda integrates activities that involve men in all its interventions to address: low male partner support in access to HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health services; stigma and social discrimination against people living with HIV and men’s poor health seeking behavior. Men view SRH as women’s issues leaving their responsibility and that of their families’ SRH to the women and girls. Male champions have been trained to sensitize men in the different communities on addressing these barriers. Male champions are better-placed to sensitize groups of men that are otherwise hard to reach. Community leaders are urged to discuss EMTCT and HIV/AIDS at community meetings and other social engagements with large male audiences. All men are encouraged to go for HIV Counseling and Testing.
